The City will replace the “public side” at no additional cost to the homeowner through these projects. Homeowners may hire a contractor to replace the “private side” of their lead service line at their own cost. Construction work associated with this initiative can only occur between April 15 and November 1 each year.

Residents that initiate a voluntary replacement should start by researching contractors and obtaining estimates for the work. Once this is completed, residents should call Tim Bartus, Water Distribution Supervisor, at 847-448-8220 and indicate that they would like to participate in the homeowner initiated lead service line replacement.
